“…it’s one thing to be hated, but it’s another thing entirely, to be ignored. And, I would say, generally speaking, if you put people in a corner and you make them choose…would you rather be ignored or hated? They would take hated. Because you exist, at least in some part, in your relationship to other people.
“…but these murderous individuals have a problem with reality…as one of the Columbine duo wrote, ‘the human race isn’t worth fighting for, only worth killing. Give the Earth back to the animals. They deserve it infinitely more than we do. Nothing means anything anymore.’”
Jordan Peterson
The big heartbreak is that another murdering thug walked into a school and murdered children and teachers. Why did he do this? We cannot know. As usual, the police killed this guy who lived in the darkness. With one hand, I applaud, with the other, I say, “Too bad, because we could learn something from him. Not only about him, but about our present day American culture.”
The remedy to the modernist, is to ban guns. But these mass killers would only find another way to inflict their pain on others. My guess is that they would turn serial killer. Or simply wipe out their family with a knife. Anything to get their revenge first, before slitting their own wrists.
It is obvious, isn’t it, they project their self hatred onto others? That is what revenge is. Except these guys go beyond taking direct revenge. After murdering his grandmother, which was his direct revenge, he decided that he would take his own childhood sufferings out on other children. I suggest he didn’t have the guts to kill himself. He needed the cops for that. Nonetheless, whatever his own horrors were, he had agency. He chose to do what he did.
The deed is done, and many families’ lives are forever changed. That is a reality. Another one is this. Our present day culture in America has an obvious problem, and we need to look at it straight on. No more complaining; complaining accomplishes nothing. Reality #2: the ballot box is impotent when it comes to these issues. Why is that? Americans changed decades back. The fantasy pushers took over education and entertainment. These two huge influences are felt every time a young man shoots up people in crowded spaces.
I wrote about this issue years ago, back before conservatives were ready for a good dose of reality. As a group, they too, follow a fantasy, about America’s constitution. But that America is gone. Culturally, we are out of control. We look away from real issues, whilst we wait for the political class to fix stuff. But why fix these money makers? Have they fixed the homeless situation? The homeless also murder and rape innocent folks. Their weapon is the handy knife. Do you hear a hue and cry go up about that? Is anything done about it?
Or do we tend to look away?
Americans look away when a woman has a child, and dumps that kid onto her parents. We mouth off on how it was her choice to have that child. Because we are all about women having choices. Including the right to abandon her kid. We don’t think about the future for the kid, we are too busy bolstering women’s rights.
Our modernist world is all about our hyper individualism that proclaims everyone’s life is to be lived for their own pleasure. Above everything else, they are to please themselves. Hedonism is okay.
What has this to do with a kid of 18 committing mass murder among the young? Plenty.
Most boys in prison had no real father-son relationship. Loner boys that end up murderers have daddy issues that are then morphed into mommy issues. In this case, grandmother issues. So let’s look at a few realities:
Reality number 1: fathers are important.
Reality number 2: men are important.
Reality number 3: families are important.
Reality number 4: time to stop our insanity about the fantasy that a single mom is an okay idea. It is not.
What follows are a few suggestions. Some will piss the modernists off.
Suggestion #1: turn control of these large issues back to the men. Men made the civilization, men need to fix it. Which means, gentlemen, grow up, stop hustling for free sex, think noble thoughts, and be known, in your community, for your good conduct. Because this problem is about boys shooting up schools, this is obviously a male problem.
Suggestion #2: boys need to be turned over to their fathers at about 8 years of age. No father in the house? How did that happen? Widows are one thing, but single moms being an okay choice, that needs to end. So guys, if you made a baby, own up by being present in your child’s life. If you have to get an attorney to make it happen, do it.
Suggestion #3: Divorced parents need to act like adults and make a plan for raising their children together. Distant fathers are a recipe for troubled children, especially the boys. Especially if the boy has a personality that pushes him toward aggressive behavior.
Suggestion #4: Yes girls, we need to own up to our part in this mess. You too, need to stop sleeping around. Life is not about your personal pleasure. Remember, inside your body is where the babies are. So be careful with that body.
Suggestion #5: Listen up, women, men are not the enemy. To have children means to live in harmony with the father of your children. If you cannot do that, do not have children. Devote yourself to your profession, like a nun devotes herself to the her church or temple.
We keep thinking that prohibitions will stop people from behaving badly. That is a fantasy. The historical record is clear. Drug cartels can import guns just as well as they import drugs. If we are to prohibit anything, it is the idea, that life is centered on our wants.
We are a society of pleasure seekers.
The reality is, if one’s family members don’t behave well, the children won’t either. And if the larger community is steeped in fantasies, so too will the children be. So for the children, be responsible, to family and community. The constant search for what makes us happy, leads us to loneliness, depression, suicide and creeps that kill kids. The beautiful reality is this: people need people. Devote yourself to people, and see how that reality goes.
You are definitely right, we humans need to live and care for each other, but I wonder why that can't happen. Thanks for this❤
Bravo! Why is the obvious being ignored?
