Welcome to the Duchy, a study group in favor of monarchy. Individuals joining this group will have lived quite long enough with democracies that continually divide and bully, and bully and divide, with no focal entity or individual planted in the center to keep the sides from engaging in constant vitriol. It doesn’t matter to many of us what side of the coin, liberal-conservative, left-right, Democrat-Republican, you are on. If you think the present system is functioning just fine, as long as YOUR belief system is voted in, the present state of insanity will continue, as you are a part of the problem.
You think that harsh? Indeed, it is. Nonetheless, I will not apologize for it. For nothing is more harsh than cancel culture, alongside the insipid constitution worshipers. Both are impotent when it comes to substantial changes that elevate the human condition.
I look at it this way. Human nature runs the gamut from the capable to the incapable to those who don’t want to participate in this amazing civilization. This is a spectrum, of course. However, in the history of humanity, there is always guidance for the majority. In the more primitive societies, the leaders were obvious. No one had to hide it away. The survival of the group depended on those who could strategize and organize. I’m sure there was always bickering, we are dealing with humans, nonetheless, when it was time to put up or shut up, those who wanted to carry on, shut up. And then followed the plan. Leaders were in place, usually, until they died or became old and frail among the hunter-gathers. Among the civilized, the leaders could carry on in spite of age. The point here is that leaders were not changed out in a constant rotation.
Changing the leader of a country every four years doesn’t make for much continuity. It does mark how a country can be divided, as many are, with clashing belief systems that punish the oppositions. Big Centralized Governments exacerbate the issues with a one size fits all approach. Odd, that, in an era wherein everyone is an individual with rights, and no responsibilities, the bureaucrats act as if we are all of alike. Unless one is a member of the oligarchy. Then one is special.
Today, however, the oligarchs are as insane as the political and bureaucratic class. It seems that the stupid, and wicked, ideas brought us via Marx, Hitler, (Hitler also wrote a book) and those a-holes who put those ideas into practice, Mao, Lenin, Stalin, Castro, Chavez, et al, those concepts seemingly are attractive to the oligarchs. They are now all about climate change, and how to clamp down on the people in order to fix the weather.
Such arrogance is always dangerous, because there is absolutely no guarantee among this unholy alliance that their purpose is benign, helpful or realistic. Always, those that practice any sort of fascism, on the left or right, their true purpose is to play god with a vengeance to destroy civilizations, and make it over in their likeness.
Well, if you have been awake the past few years, you are familiar with what I say.
Complaining about this state of affairs is rampant among the old style liberals, conservatives and libertarians. Which tells me that group of individuals is leaderless. Because we know that complaint gets one nowhere.
Me? I am fed up with both, the Marxist useful idiots, and the constitutionalists. I’m fed up with the complainers because they have no solutions to offer except those that we see have failed. Which leads me to the cliche, if you would change the world, change yourself. This is a true statement, however, it is a cliche when you do not follow through on it. Because change is a difficult road to travel. It takes work. Hard, difficult work, which begins with changing your thinking.
Change your thinking and the rest will follow.
For my change, I’ve decided I’ve been in “retirement” long enough. Coming round full circle, I’ve come to the decision the time is right to take hold of this issue. Here’s the plan. To activate the mission to bring stable leadership that values the individual, not groups.
Here’s the observation: The vast majority of the people really do not wish to be so constantly engaged in the political process. From abortion to education to marriage, and by extension, family life, the private has turned public property. Bureaucracies badger instead of serve. Taxes go up, and potholes multiply. The homeless rule the streets, and violence rises.
Have you had enough?
In the old Roman republic, the senate would ask for a dictator to get them out of a crisis. Nonetheless, those old patricians knew very well that dictators could decide to be dictators for life. Thus, I ask the question: why not jump to the chase, and have a monarch? I suggest that if the process of change is guided, a nasty civil war can be avoided.
Indeed, many questions need to be answered. That is reasonable. A concrete plan needs to be formulated, one that can be acted upon, No pipe dreams are allowed. Just asking and answering that first question: how to make this happen, is the immediate goal. What sort of monarchy do we propose? And, the really big question, how do we get there from here? Those need to be answered.
This is to be a study group on monarchy in the 21st century, and beyond. We begin by studying the issue historically. How did the kings become kings?
What sort of individual do I look for to participate in the Duchy? Mostly, they would tend to be on the conservative side. They may, at this time, not favor monarchy, but are willing to consider it. Since so many conservatives, and old style liberals, are rudderless at this time, I suggest their thinking isn’t locked in. They can see that the old ways are no longer working as they are supposed to work.
I know some libertarians who have voiced an interest in monarchy. Libertarians have been around for 50 years, and have yet to elect enough individuals to office to make a difference. I think of libertarians as people with good ideas in search of a plan to implement them. Without a plan, nothing happens. Since monarchs do not interfere in the personal lives of individuals, libertarians would be open to a monarchy.
Finally, there are the strong willed Republicans that are indeed focused on winning elections. If they don’t shoot themselves in the foot, they can make a bit of difference. But this nation, and the civilization at large, has veered so far off the path, it will take years to bring it back onto a paved road. The curse is, of course, that those who would run for political office tend to be narcissists. We have had enough of those to go around, have we not?
To sum it up, anyone who is tired of the constant, nasty bickering, will, at the very least, be willing to listen to an alternate idea. Remember, it was Socrates that warned us about democracy. He summed it up nicely when he said democracy was rule by the stupid.
Have you had enough of stupid?
If the answer to the question is yes, think about joining this team. If you long for a structure of governance that is efficient and honorable, think about taking steps to see that happen.
If you are interested in this project, please get in touch with me. I will ask for profiles, and short essays as to why you want to join this group. It will take a commitment from you. But it won’t be rudderless. Because we are on a mission, we are focused on that a goal. You must be willing to take up tasks to get us where this group must go: to educate, and convince, that monarchy is the answer.
