Dictators in a Cruise Car
You have heard of it. Tyre Nichols is dead. You saw his murder by 5 thugs calling themselves cops, in Memphis, Tennessee. Those 5 had the power given to them, by the People, to pull over a young man, then drag him out of his car, and beat the life, literally, out of him.
The citizens of Memphis need to take on some of this guilt, as those 5 cops committed this crime in the name of the Citizens of Memphis.
As for this SCORPION idea, that individual(s) need to be shown the door. Pronto.
Yes, here I go again, telling people in a democracy, they must be responsible for the actions taken in their name. In the United States, as in many Western democracies, we have grown used to the convenience of having our streets patrolled by “professional” police. We have given them the authority to stop people. To take them into custody. We have given them the authority to use weapons. Most cops do not respond by murdering individuals, but enough do for us to question our decision about giving, mostly men, this ability to take on the criminal element that lives among us. After all, who wants to deal with gangsters, of any culture?
Much of the violence is due to drugs. Cops think they fight in a “war” against the drug element. They think that, because you, the people, tell them that. Are you going to tell me that that, is not you? You are not responsible in this “government of the people, by the people, for the people?”
I bet you do not like what I say to you. Keep reading so that I can tell you what I want you to think about. Let’s begin here.
As Americans, we need to understand who we ask to defend us from criminals. Drug cartels and their employees and subsidiaries, known as gangs, are a fearful bunch. People who take those drugs, buy product from murderers. To take on such dangerous organizations, it takes a dangerous organization. It takes men willing to haul people out of their cars on nothing more than a “suspicious” maneuver, like you drove your car over the white line. Such individuals we hire to do this job are in the, “…it takes one to know one,” element. It takes a guy with an aggressive personality to bring down a nasty character. Nice guys don’t go there. Nor do nice girls. Nice folks work in offices or retail. A cop? All of them have some degree of aggressiveness. They would not be attracted to police work if they didn’t. Don’t want to believe me? Here’s a link to a commentary by Dr. Todd Grande. His analysis is quite clear on this subject.
What is of interest to many of us is that the cop thugs were all black men. So much for the idea that cop thuggery is a racist thing. No, it is a cop thing.
Let’s skip to the chase on what is the real issue here. There is much talk about defunding the cops, or disbanding the police departments. That talk won’t make if far as crime is rising. However, the reality of life tells us that the police cannot protect us. No criminal will wait for you to punch up those numbers, 911. We all know that. So why do we keep thinking we need police departments? Currently, with the attitude of many cities, on releasing violent individuals back onto the streets, it cannot be claimed that we are kept safe by criminals being locked away in prisons.
Isn’t it time to think about defending ourselves? Isn’t it time we think about taking responsibility for our own lives. Isn’t it time we shut people up who claim those who rob, rape and murder, are not really bad people, but misunderstood people?
Instead of reality biting us, shouldn’t we bite back?
Once upon a time, people in the West did take responsibility for their lives. They had weapons, on their person, and in their homes, to defend themselves against aggressive behaviors in others. Indeed, young people, old people, even the kids, could defend themselves. Women knew how to lock, load and shoot a rifle, or wield a sword. They would keep a knife on their person, or stick you with the sharp whale bone in their corset. The best defense people had, was to never be alone. Even better, was to have an attitude that disinvited an aggressor from even approaching them. Plus, in one’s neighborhood, one was a known entity. If a stranger entered the hood, especially a strange male, the people in the hood would be on alert. If he couldn’t account for himself, he was disinvited to the neighborhood, usually by a couple of the rougher men given to protecting their turf.
The idea behind a professional police force was to have an impartial body of men patrol the streets, to make arrests, and to make a case to bring the criminal to justice. No one would take it personally if your family member was arrested due to another family accusing him or her of a criminal act. Or so the theory goes. This theory includes the idea that neighbors would not have to kill one of their own neighbors if that neighbor broke into their house to steal, murder or rape. Nor would the individual have to pull a drunk out of their car. To have a professional police force relieved citizens of taking on other citizens when they misbehaved.
Time to rethink the theory.
Running parallel to this Memphis event is the two mass shooting incidents that took place in California. The hue and cry of disarming individuals is heard, yet once again. Americans seem to be stuck in between bad cops and mass murderers, and the hysteria that shouts out to us, that to cure these ills, we need to be defenseless.
The individuals that mass murders kill are defenseless. Do you like it that way? You can make guns illegal all you want, but the reality that bites is that bad people know where to get guns.
To be defenseless is not a solution. It is a part of the problem. Too many of us are already defenseless. Therefore, getting all emotional about misbehaving people is not a solution. It is a part of the problem. Thinking cops are a good thing is a part of the problem, because they cannot protect you. Cops do not stop crime. They pursue criminals after the crime has been committed. But individuals have been know to stop a crime. CNN doesn’t report on these events.
True, cops can also have their hands tied due to all those individuals that feel sorry for criminals. They may make an arrest, but soon, the SOB is out on the street, because those lovely voters voted in laws that protect the criminal.
With my own eyes, I saw a couple steal a shopping cart full of items from a store, and no one did a thing to stop them. Because the new theory is, that if you don’t interfere when under a 1k is stolen, the jails won’t fill up. The justice courts won’t be backlogged, and so forth. Instead, we get gangs robbing stores.
BTW, the couple I witnessed drove away in one of those large SUVs. I don’t think they were poor, or down on their luck. I do think they may have been pros, who took the things to sell. Have you ever asked yourself where the goods some of these street vendors sell, come from?
In the meantime, as thug cops beat up guys like Tyre Nichols, real crime happens somewhere else.
I ask you, what are you thinking right now? That we must leave things the way they are? Or are changes in order? And what sort of changes?
I have always like the idea, that an armed society is a polite society. But the idiots who think all people are good people, even as they commit a crime, have fed the politicians enough power, in your name, that we now allow ourselves to be sitting ducks. We allow the people, who think democracy is a fantastic way to organize, to rule us in the name of the two F words: freedom and fear.
The dichotomy of humanity is this: are we free of fear, or fearful of freedom? Can we police ourselves? Or do we want others to police us? To pull us over, and order us out of our car for no real reason? Do we want a dictator in a cruise car? Or is it time we live in the real world, and take on the huge responsibility of our own lives?
You tell me.
